The Fund has raised over £120,000 since it was launched in March 2004. This has wildly exceeded the hopes and aspirations of everyone and we are deeply grateful to all the individuals, organisations and groups who have contributed to this wonderful amount. In all, there have been well over 700 separate donations. Donations continue to flow in. The generous support has enabled the completion of the new Alex Ewart Memorial School at Chandi Danda, built in partnership with The Pahar Trust, Nepal.
The Alex Ewart hostel at BhuPu school is now home to over 250 children able to enjoy clean water, modern washrooms and recreational space, warm in winter and cool in summer.

THE FUTURE
The need to support the children and their education remains pressing. The bonds forged through the success of the Fund’s projects to date has laid the foundations for future work in Nepal.• There will be a need for onging maintenance and upkeep of the new school buildings in Besisahar
• Over the years the schools in Besisahar have benefitted from young English speaking volunteer teachers living and working in the schools. Currently, it is not possible to place young volunteers in Besisahar because of the conflict. The volunteers’ positive impact on the teaching and learnging of English is greatly missed . The Fund is exploring ways of supporting in service training of teachers to ameliorate this situation.
